Impulstar street football tournament

If most sports competitions were stopped this year due to Covid-19, the Impulstar tournament was able to reach its conclusion with a final contested on February 16, 2020, thus closing the ^9th edition of the largest tournament in street football in France.

“Bullet at the foot: no one can stop me”. Here is the slogan of the 5-a-side football tournament (futsal), which brings together players from the different departments of Ile de France, between 14 and 16 years old, and which aims to become a reference on a social and sporting level. This project aims to highlight the contribution of diversity and social diversity. Many professional 11-a-side football players support the initiative, such as Riyad Mahrez, Benjamin Mendy, Wissam Ben Yedder and Blaise Matuidi. Since 2019, the Impulstar project has also organized qualifiers at the national level, from Marseille to Maubeuge via Lyon, Paris and Bordeaux. Personalities from the world of music, such as Soprano or Alonzo, or even comedians, such as Ahmed Sylla or Redouane Behache, have also been invited to the party during recent editions. The founders of the event hope to bridge all urban cultures and bring together young people without worrying about their origins.

In addition to the social issues, the Impulstar project is also an opportunity for young people to play in front of professional players, coaches and recruiters. Georges-Kévin Nkoudou, former player of FC Nantes and Olympique de Marseille, was spotted during the first edition of the tournament. Youssef El Arabi, a former futsal player who turned professional in 11-a-side football, regularly supports the event and is living proof that 5-a-side football can be a real springboard for these young people. Impulstar also represents a second chance for all those who did not manage to pass the training center, and who can thus take their revenge during this tournament. Who knows ? The next edition will perhaps reveal the future great talent ready to torment Ligue 1 defenses.
